Guam is a beautiful tropical paradise only three to four hours away from Japan and South Korea. As the largest island in Micronesia and southernmost of the the Mariana Islands, Guam is the cultural hub of the Northwestern Pacific Ocean. Stretching 30 miles long and 4 to 12 miles wide, Guam is a breathtaking vacation destination with a warm tropical climate, beautiful beaches, bays, steep cliffs, mountains, and a coral reef. Guam has a rich and beautiful culture, attracting travelers from around the world.

The original inhabitants of Guam are descendants of Austronesian people from Southeast Asia as early as 2000 BC, who evolved into the Chamorro people. Guam has a long and remarkable history, including Ferdinand Magellan's discovery in 1521 and its Spanish claim in 1565. During World War II, Guam was invaded and occupied by Japan until the Battle of Guam when the United State recaptured the island in 1944. Today, Guam is an organized territory of the United States with Naval and Air Force bases and military installations and a thriving tourism culture.
